
PENAMPANG: A two-storey semi-permanent house in Kampung Nambazan, behind SMK Limbanak, was completely destroyed in a fire late Tuesday afternoon.
The Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) received the emergency call at 5.47pm, with firefighters from Penampang arriving at the scene by 5.55pm.
Assisted by the Putatan fire station, 11 personnel battled the blaze using water sources from a nearby hydrant.
A 69-year-old man sustained burns on his forehead and was given initial treatment by the Civil Defence Force (APM).
The fire was brought under control at 6.17pm, and the operation concluded at 8pm.
