Carmelo Anthony built a career that placed him among the defining NBA scorers of his era.

His résumé includes an NBA scoring title, 10 All-Star selections and major Olympic success, but the absence of a championship still shapes debates around his legacy.

That discussion often centres on team success, and a new Mikal Bridges comparison shows how little deep playoff exposure Anthony actually had.

According to Stat Defender, Bridges has scored 169 points in the Conference Finals as a Knick, while Anthony finished with 165 across his entire career.

The comparison is striking because ‘Melo’ played 19 NBA seasons, but reached the Conference Finals only once.

That came in 2009, when his Denver Nuggets faced Kobe Bryant’s Los Angeles Lakers in the Western Conference Finals.

Anthony produced strong individual numbers, scoring 165 points across six games, including 39 in Game 1 and 34 in Game 2.

Denver still lost the series 4-2, and the Lakers went on to beat the Orlando Magic in the NBA Finals.

For Bridges, the number reflects New York’s current postseason run. For Anthony, it shows how rarely his teams reached the stage where legacies are often expanded.

That does not erase Anthony’s scoring achievements or his place in modern NBA history.

But it explains part of the debate. ‘Melo’ had the talent for more defining late-playoff moments, yet his career offered very few chances to collect them.
