A bus passenger faces online backlash after wiping his hands and mouth on a curtain following a meal during a journey.
A BUS passenger has drawn widespread criticism online after he was allegedly seen wiping his hands and mouth on a bus curtain after finishing a meal during a journey.
The incident was shared by Threads user Akmal, who uploaded a video showing the passenger’s alleged actions.
The clip quickly gained traction online, with many netizens describing the behaviour as unhygienic and disrespectful to other passengers.
According to Akmal, the passenger, believed to be a foreign national, boarded an express bus carrying a packed nasi briyani, despite being informed by the driver that eating onboard was not permitted.
What followed left both Akmal and many social media users shocked.
In the video, the passenger was allegedly seen using the bus curtain to wipe his hands and mouth after finishing his meal.
“Bro, he was already eating nasi briyani on the bus, and then he wiped his mouth on the curtain,” Akmal wrote in his post.
The video has since gone viral, garnering 9,900 likes and more than 4,600 shares at the time of writing.
Many netizens expressed disgust over the incident, with some warning that such behaviour could lead to stricter rules for all passengers in the future.
Several Thread users said incidents of this nature make it more difficult for transport operators to accommodate passengers, particularly when cleanliness and comfort are compromised.
“This is exactly why bus drivers will eventually ban food on buses. Seriously, why are you stuffing yourself with nasi kandar on a bus?” one user, _ikhmmaall, commented.
“He wiped his hands there? Eww. Does he actually think it’s clean? Someone before him probably wiped their nose on that curtain too. Serves him right. Hahaha,” ezieehalim added.
