A passenger on an express bus has drawn criticism online after he was allegedly seen eating nasi briyani onboard before wiping his hands and mouth on the bus curtain.
The incident, which was captured in a video uploaded to Threads, has since gone viral, with many netizens calling out the passenger for his inconsiderate behaviour.
Ate Nasi Briyani despite driver’s warning
Speaking to WeirdKaya, the Thread user, Akmal, said he was travelling on a Star Coach bus from Teluk Intan to Seremban when the incident took place.
According to him, the incident happened last Sunday (June 7) at around 12pm.
Akmal claimed that the passenger, who was believed to be a foreigner, had brought packed nasi briyani onto the bus despite the driver prohibiting him from doing so.
However, the passenger allegedly insisted on eating the food during the journey.
Wiped hands and mouth on bus curtain
What shocked Akmal even more was what happened after the passenger had his meal.
In the video, the passenger was allegedly seen wiping his hands and mouth on the bus curtain.
Bro, he was already eating nasi briyani on the bus, and then he wiped his mouth on the curtain,” Akmal wrote in his post.
Akmal also claimed that the passenger had left a mess on his seat.
He made a mess on his seat, and I could also see that a lot of flavoured drink had spilt on the couch,” he told WeirdKaya.

“Lodge a report!”
Following the video going viral, it has since garnered 9.9K likes and 4.6K shares at the time of writing.
Many netizens were unhappy with the passenger’s actions, with some saying such behaviour could affect other passengers in the future.
“Because of people like this, one day all bus drivers may no longer allow passengers to bring any items onto the bus at all,” one user wrote.
Another user criticised the act as unhygienic, writing: “This is beyond careless… dirty… how unfortunate that Malaysia has people like this.”
Several others also urged Akmal to lodge a report over the incident, while some expressed sympathy for the bus operator and the staff who would have to clean up the mess left behind after the journey.
At the same time, others said that passengers should be more mindful when using public transport, especially when sharing the space with others.
