The 14-year-old Malaysian football sensation has become the talk of the nation after delivering a remarkable seven-goal performance in the Malayan Tigress Under-17’s emphatic 9-0 victory over Saudi Arabia at the 2026 Piala Srikandi Merdeka.
The match, played at the Super Soccer Arena in Kudus, Indonesia, on Tuesday, saw Lim emerge as the driving force behind Malaysia’s dominant display and secure the team’s place in the semi-finals.
Lim needed only eight minutes to open the scoring before finding the net again in the 22nd and 27th minutes to complete a first-half hat-trick.
The Malaysia-US heritage forward showed no signs of slowing down after the break, tormenting Saudi Arabia’s defence with her speed, movement and powerful left foot.
She added four more goals, including one from the penalty spot, completing her double hat-trick in the 83rd minute before scoring her seventh with five minutes remaining.
The extraordinary feat has attracted attention across the regional football scene, with seven goals in an official international match considered an exceptionally rare achievement.
Local media reports described Lim as the first Malaysian women’s footballer to score seven goals in an official international match, an impressive record achieved at just 14.
Her performance was not limited to close-range finishes. Lim also demonstrated her ability to strike from distance and threaten from set pieces, further underlining why she is regarded as one of Malaysia’s most exciting young prospects.
Mia Alysa and Ku Nur Qaleysha scored Malaysia’s other two goals to complete the rout.
What made the victory even more remarkable was that Malaysia played with 10 players from the 21st minute after forward Dishanna Nagarajan Pillay was shown a red card.
Despite being a player down, Fairuz Montana Zainal Abidin’s side continued to control the game, creating chance after chance until the final whistle.
The victory saw Malaysia finish second in Group A on goal difference, level on four points with Hong Kong. The Malayan Tigress advanced to the last four alongside host nation Indonesia’s Garuda Pertiwi.
With Lim and her teammates in commanding form, Malaysia will now look to carry that momentum into the semi-finals as they continue their pursuit of the 2026 Piala Srikandi Merdeka title.
