Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Kota Kinabalu Badminton Academy (SKKBA) returned triumphantly from the 2nd West-Lake Miri Badminton Open Championships 2026, held from July 31 to August 2 at the Kan Sheng Sports Badminton Hall in Miri, Sarawak.

The 60-member team brought home an impressive medal tally of 28 medals: eight gold, 11 silver and nine bronze medals in the highly competitive tournament co-organised by SenadinBadminton Club and Miri Badminton Association, featuring a total of 1,026 players from 11 countries.

SKKBA president S.M. He added that their players’ dedication to the mantra “Together We Rise, Together We Win” was a powerful motivator as they exhibited remarkable sportsmanship and resilience to overcome significant hurdles, including scheduling delays and a follow-by system that resulted in long waits between matches.
