KUALA LUMPUR – Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Federal Territories) Hannah Yeoh and Ramachandran Muniandy have divorced after 18 years of marriage, according to an update on Yeoh's official website.
The website states that Yeoh married Ramachandran in 2008, shortly before she entered public office and that the couple have two children, Shay and Kayleigh, born in 2011 and 2013 respectively.
It also states that the couple divorced in 2026.
No further details about the divorce were provided on the website.
Yeoh, 47, is the Segambut Member of Parliament, a seat she first won in the 2018 general election.
Before entering Parliament, she served as the Subang Jaya state assemblywoman for two terms from 2008 to 2018, and became the first woman to serve as Speaker of the Selangor State Legislative Assembly in 2013.
She was appointed Deputy Women, Family and Community Development Minister in 2018, a position she held until 2020, before becoming Youth and Sports Minister in 2022. She served in that role until 2025, when she was appointed Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Federal Territories) in December of that year.
Within DAP, she currently serves as deputy secretary-general, vice-chair of DAP Federal Territories, and a committee member of DAP Wanita.
The latest update to her official biography now records the end of her 18-year marriage, while retaining details of her political career and public positions.
