IShowSpeed has asked UFC welterweight champion Islam Makhachev if he can send his brother to train with him in Dagestan.
The fighter famously told Daniel Cormier to send his kids to Dagestan for two to three years for training, which has since become a massive meme in the MMA community and beyond. Now, the streamer believes that such an intensive training regime could help his brother, whom he believes is floundering.
Speed is known to be a tremendous athlete who has scored goals at Wembley Stadium and sparred around the world in boxing as well as MMA. His most famous endeavour took place in 2024 when he came within touching distance of Noah Lyles in a 50-meter race.
IShowSpeed asks Islam Makhachev to take his brother for training in Dagestan

During a recent stream, iShowSpeed noticed that Islam Makhachev had commented an eye emoji on his joke about sending his brother to Dagestan. He told his brother Jamahal about it, and the idea didn’t sit well with him.
Jamahal asked him not to take it seriously, but Speed kept pushing the idea. “You are spending two-three years with him,” he said, insisting that Jamahal’s life would change. Jamahal admitted he was scared of the prospect.
“You’re scared, bro? You’ve got to be a man,” Speed said. “You think I’m trolling? I’m about to DM him right now.” Whether Makhachev responded or if Speed was just messing around wasn’t clear.
Dagestan’s reputation for tough training is well-known, especially within its Muslim community. The region has become something of a destination for fighters looking for serious preparation, including those who have moved there specifically to train at Khabib Nurmagomedov’s famous gym.
