- The charge, issued on Thursday 31 July, relates to an incident at a nightclub on Wardour Street in central London on 6 December last year.
- Toney, who recently transferred from Brentford to Saudi Pro League club Al-Ahli, is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 24 September.
- The Sun newspaper previously reported Toney's arrest on 8 December following an alleged headbutt.
- A spokesperson for Toney stated that he is shocked by the charge but looks forward to clearing his name in court.
