Ducati could revive their interest in signing Jack Miller for their World Superbikes team if he doesn’t pen a new contract at Pramac, according to MotoGP pit reporter Jack Appleyard.
As with most of the grid, Miller’s contract runs out after the 2026 season. But it’s understood that many of the top riders have already sorted out deals for 2027.
Miller might end up being one of the last riders to find out where he’ll be next year, just like last season. While staying at Pramac is likely his first choice, moving to WSBK remains a possibility if things don’t work out.
Jack Miller’s MotoGP future still uncertain amid Ducati links
According to Appleyard, Ducati had shown interest in bringing Miller over to WSBK even before he signed his recent extension with Pramac. “Before he signed this latest Yamaha deal, he had a pretty strong offer on the table from World Superbikes,” said Appleyard.
Miller previously spent two years with the Ducati factory team in 2021 and 2022, contributing to back-to-back team titles. The familiarity could work in his favour if another opportunity arises.
There are varying opinions on whether Miller stays at Pramac. While Spanish journalist Mela Chercoles believes it’s a ‘guaranteed’ move, Appleyard has suggested that Izan Guevara, who is currently linked with Yamaha in Moto2, could be making the step up instead.
“Jack Miller’s got a huge chance [of racing for Ducati’s WSBK team],” added Appleyard. “Before he signed this latest Yamaha deal, he had a pretty strong offer on the table from World Superbikes, but he wanted to stay in MotoGP.
“Jack is fighting for that final Pramac seat at the moment. Probably the favourite [tag is] going the way of Izan Guevara, but you never know, Jack might be able to battle back.”
Miller caught between MotoGP and WSBK opportunities
If Nicolo Bulega secures a spot in MotoGP next year, it would leave an opening at Ducati WSBK that Miller could fill. Teams like Gresini have already been linked with riders such as Dani Holgado and Enea Bastianini for 2027.
Bulega may end up filling a seat at VR46 next to Fermin Aldeguer if Fabio Di Giannantonio is dropped despite his good form. With so many moving pieces around him, it may take several months before Jack knows how things will play out.
