
The Research and Development Cell (R&DC) of Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University (JGND PSOU), Patiala, conducted a seven-day national workshop on research methodology from May 14-22. Organised under the chairmanship of Vice-Chancellor Prof Rattan Singh, the initiative aimed to elevate the research skills and competence of PhD scholars.
Prof Rattan Singh inaugurated the sessions by highlighting the core elements of research design, hypothesis framing and methodology. Over the course of a week, expert resource persons delivered specialized sessions. Dr Navleen Multani guided scholars on impactful proposal writing; Dr Satinder Kumar and Prof Khehra covered SPSS and statistical tools; Dr Neeraj Kumar Singh discussed library resources, plagiarism and AI tools; Dr Gurmanpreet Kaur and Dr Sulakshna Dwivedi addressed research ethics, methodologies and scientific misconduct; and Dr Amitoj Singh focused on literature reviews.
The workshop concluded successfully with scholars presenting their papers on contemporary research and publication ethics.
