A Perodua Bezza, driven by a 30-year-old man, is believed to have been hit from behind by a BYD Seal.

KUALA LUMPUR - Police have located the driver of a BYD Seal who fled the scene in the six-vehicle crash that killed a girl in Jalan Kuching on Saturday.

The 24-year-old suspect is currently receiving treatment for a concussion at a private hospital in Damansara and is under the supervision of an investigating officer.

In the accident, a five-year-old girl died after the car she was travelling in was involved in the collision on Jalan Kuching heading from the city centre towards Segambut.

Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) chief ACP Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa said preliminary investigations revealed that the incident occurred at 3.44pm amidst slow-moving traffic, when a Perodua Bezza driven by the victim's father was struck from behind by a BYD Seal.

"The collision also involved a motorcycle before the Perodua Bezza spun into the right lane and struck three other vehicles, a Nissan Almera, a Toyota Alphard, and a Perodua Myvi.

"As a result of the accident, the child, who was seated in the rear passenger seat, sustained severe head injuries and was later pronounced dead at Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL)," he said in a statement here today.

Zamzuri said the victim's 30-year-old father suffered an injury to his right hand, while the 33-year-old motorcyclist sustained a head injury; both are receiving treatment at HKL.

He added that the drivers of the other three vehicles involved did not sustain any injuries.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. Members of the public or witnesses to the incident are urged to come forward by contacting the Tun H.S. Lee Traffic Police Station at 03-2071 9999 or any nearby police station. - BERNAMA
