Kota Kinabalu: An alleged RM945,000 allocation for Yayasan Sabah’s anniversary celebration that went viral on social media has not received management approval, said Innoprise Corporation Sdn Bhd (ICSB) executive chairman Datuk Jasnih Daya (pic).
ICSB is the wholly-owned commercial and investment arm of the Yayasan Sabah Group.
Jasnih said to his knowledge, no proposal or budget application for the event has been submitted to the management holding the approving authority.
While the organising committee can propose and apply for funds, it does not mean it will automatically be approved, he said in a Facebook post on Sunday.
He noted that substantial funding requests are typically reviewed and subject to reduction based on actual needs.
This measure is crucial to ensure prudent spending and prevent wastage, he added.
Jasnih also assured that Yayasan Sabah has mechanisms in place to curb excessive expenditure, reiterating that its priority remains the people of Sabah.
