Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown slams analytics for criticizing him.

Jaylen Brown has become a major discussion point for NBA fans and experts alike, with reports of the Boston Celtics wanting to trade the 2024 NBA Finals MVP.

The Celtics have already failed in doing so when the Milwaukee Bucks rejected a Brown-centered trade package for Giannis Antetokounmpo.

As a result, Brown’s value has tanked. In fact, an analytics guy told ESPN expert Bobby Marks that teams view the Celtics star as the seventh-best player on the roster.

Jaylen Brown snaps at his disrespect

Evidently, the claim went viral on X. So much so that, Brown responded to it with a vicious clap back aimed at the so-called analytics guys.

“Analytics nowadays used to discredit and control narratives – Roll the ball out none of these guys better than me on both ends who does he work for,” Brown wrote on X.

Indeed, Brown is one of the best two-way players in the NBA right now. The biggest criticism around Brown earlier was being too reliant on Jayson Tatum.

However, Brown shattered that narrative during the 2025-26 NBA season by carrying the Celtics while Tatum recovered from a torn Achilles tendon.

Bobby Marks explains his side of the story after Jaylen Brown’s clap back

Even in the original report, Marks clarified this wasn’t his view. But after Brown’s response to the viral tweet, many called out the ESPN expert.

In fact, Marks had to respond to Brown’s comment in order to clear the air.

“But what wasn’t posted was the 2m of saying I’m not an analytics person but an eye test guy. That I would want Jaylen Brown on my team,” Marks said.

He added, “That you impact winning (191-80 in the last 4 years), is a top-10 player and would help any team looking to win a championship. That part of the course didn’t make it. But that’s the media in 2026.”

After reading Marks’ response, Brown asked him to expose his source. So far, the ESPN expert has stayed silent, but he has already proven his innocence in this debate.
