
Kota Kinabalu: Jetama Water Sdn Bhd and the Sabah Water Industry Workers Union (Kesatuan Pekerja-Pekerja Industri Air Sabah, KPPIAS) signed their 7th Collective Agreement, marking a significant step in the ongoing collaboration between the company and its employees.
The new agreement, which takes effect for three years from Jan 1, 2025, through December 31, 2027, benefits the (Jetama Water) operators and technicians manning six water treatment plants in Sabah.
Jetama Sdn Bhd Chief Executive Officer Datuk Ahmad Naim bin Uddang said the agreement is a reflection of their mutual respect and shared commitment to improving the welfare of their employees. “KPPIAS was established in 2006, to foster industrial harmony and enhance working conditions for employees in Sabah’s water industry.
“That same year, the union gained formal recognition from Corporate Dynamics Sdn Bhd (now known as Jetama Sdn Bhd) at that time and was officially registered under the Department of Trade Affairs, part of the Ministry of Human Resources.
Ahmad Naim signed the 7th Collective Agreement together with Jetama Water Sdn Bhd General Manager Jude Abel Logijin and its Assistant General Manager cum Negotiating head of Management Division Debbie Annabelle Peter, while KPPIAS was represented by its President Dean Nelson Julius, its secretary and treasurer and witnessed by Federal Department of Industrial Relations Sabah (JPPS) represented by its Assistant Director 1 Iskandar Nasir in the event.
