JOAO FELIX shared heartfelt words about his late Portugal team-mate Diogo Jota, calling him an unforgettable figure in football.

The Liverpool forward died in a car crash in Spain on July 3 alongside his brother Andre Silva.

Jota had married his long-time partner Rute Cardoso just 11 days before the tragic accident.

The Premier League held tributes over the weekend to honour the 28-year-old’s legacy.

Felix, visibly emotional, spoke about their close friendship during Portugal national team camps.

He described Jota as a key member of their tight-knit group within the squad.

Felix also praised Jota’s family, calling them an incredible and supportive unit.

Currently in Hong Kong with Al Nassr for the Saudi Super Cup, Felix reflected on Jota’s lasting impact.

He stated that Jota’s memory will live on every time they step onto the pitch.

Felix recently joined Al Nassr from Chelsea in a high-profile transfer worth up to £43.7 million.

The Portuguese star will reportedly earn $10 million annually at his new club. - AFP
