Jon Jones has addressed the viral road altercation that placed him back under scrutiny, offering a sharply different version of events to the one circulating online.
The footage, recorded in Albuquerque, New Mexico, using Meta Glasses, shows ‘Bones’ confronting driver Bryan Beltran during a heated roadside exchange. The clip quickly spread, fuelling debate about the former champion’s conduct.
Beltran claimed Jones nearly hit him three times before the confrontation and admitted he flipped him off without recognising who was driving, with tensions escalating once both vehicles stopped.
Jon Jones insists viral road rage clip tells only part of story

Jones responded on X, insisting the situation unfolded very differently to what Beltran presented in the widely shared video.
He wrote that the other driver chased him and revved his engine in a bid to intimidate him before the confrontation occurred.
“This kid proceeded to chase my car down for two blocks, revving his engine and trying to intimidate me. I am glad this happened to me and not one of the senior citizens in our community. I am proud of myself for standing up for myself and not allowing that kind of bullying or intimidation,” the former UFC two-weight champion said.
The original clip shows Jones saying that Beltran needs to calm down before flipping him off, while Beltran accused him of reckless driving.
Jon Jones’ history of driving incidents remains under spotlight
The incident has renewed attention on Jones’ past driving-related controversies, which have repeatedly shaped public perception of his career.
In 2015, he pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of a crash involving a pregnant woman and received probation after avoiding jail time.
Last year, he faced charges linked to a car accident in February. However, in September, prosecutors accepted his alibi and dropped the legal action.
