University of Perpetual Help rookie forward Brian Orca recorded a double-double to lead the Junior Altas past the Arellano University Braves, 104-97, for their third straight victory in the NCAA Season 102 juniors basketball tournament on Friday, Sept. 25 at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.
Orca finished with 13 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals in just 22 minutes of action.
Team captain Loiue Rosales chipped in 20 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 steals and Sizco Roquid added 19 points, 4 rebounds and 2 steals for the Junior Altas.
Laurence Pillas led Arellano with 23 points, 9 boards, 6 assists, 7 steals and 3 blocks but was called for his third flagrant foul of the season after clashing with Kurt Patalinghug with two minutes remaining in the game.
The Junior Altas finished the first phase of the elimination round with a 3-1 win-loss record in Group B. Perpetual Help will next face La Salle Green Hills (College of Saint Benilde) in the crossover phase with Group A on Oct. 1.
"Just play good defense and the result will come up next, that's what I always say to them. We are still preparing for our entry into the cross over with Group A, which is CSB, San Beda, Mapua, Lyceum and JRU, which we know are all strong," Perpetual Help coach Joph Cleopas said.
