Junior Lady Altas coach introduces new players

Coach Sandy Rieta of the reigning NCAA girls volleyball champion University of Perpetual Help introduced the team’s new recruits for its title defense campaign in Season 102.

Rieta presented the new players during their practice at the Home of the Altas in Las Piñas City on Monday.

The new members of the Junior Lady Altas are 13-year-old Georgina Trista Abaricia, a 5-foot-8 player from Lucban, Quezon who last played for Enverga University; 14-year-old Ma. Nicaella Villeza, a 5-foot-8 player from Imus City, Cavite, who last played for Josiah Christian Values School; 17-year-old Joyce Manalungsung, a 5-foot-8 player from Concepcion, Tarlac who last played for Benigno S. Aquino National High School; 17-year-old Shiena Cate Vargas, a 5-foot-1 player from General Trias, Cavite who last played for St. Jude School; and 16-year-old Adriele Jayne Bautista, a 5-foot-3 player from Imus, Cavite who last played for Philippine Christian University-Dasmarinas.

Rieta said they are the replacement players for those who graduated from the team. He is optimistic that with the new lineup, the Junior Lady Altas are ready to defend the crown and win their third NCAA title in four years.

The coach also said  Sherrie Rose Acosta, Elizha Sildo, Michaela Boticario, Ashley Deanon, Lut Bacalla, Joycelle Casil, Rhian Corpuz, Chrisline Ajid and Arianne Casillan have remained with the team.
