After four years, the prince of Pop Justin Bieber has returned to music with his seventh studio album SWAG. On July 11, 2025, Bieber surprise-dropped the album, and in simple words, it is sweet, warm, and blissful. Once again, the singer switched genres, this time leaning into R&B for the deeply personal passion project. Here’s a full breakdown of the latest Justin Bieber album SWAG, a quick review, features, and best songs.
This is technically Bieber’s second R&B inspired album after Changes. And by the sound of it, you can say it was his soul project. The album reflects topics like his marriage, his love for his wife, and fatherhood. Additionally, Bieber also partnered up with many other artists for the album, his first since he sold his music catalogue in December 2022 and parted ways with manager Scooter Braun.
Beliebers (Bieber’s loyal fans) are ecstatic about his return to music with a new album. The album debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, with 163,000 first-week units, while 16 songs entered Billboard Hot 100, led by “DAISIES”. Bieber also got 198.77 million on-demand streams, making SWAG release week his biggest career streaming week. It’s safe to say Bieber fever is still alive and well.
Review: Justin Bieber finds his old R&B soul with his new album SWAG

Bieber started his music career when he was only 15. The release of albums like My World 2 and Believe, coupled with his undeniable charm made him one of the biggest teenage global superstars the world has ever seen. His old music is an iconic part of 2000’s pop sound, but he constantly experimented with his sound over the years. And this time, Bieber has switched to R&B which was a huge inspiration for him in his formative years.
The album starts with a very promising track “ALL I CAN TAKE”, which combines echoing vocals and fast beats with synth sound effects. Next is “DAISIES”, which is the most popular song from the album and rightfully so. The song is addictive with soft vocals, a catchy tune, and personal lyrics blended with a romantic vibe. “YUKON” is a great driving song which is completely sung in a pitched-up voice. “GO BABY” is a beautiful love song written for his beloved wife Hailey Bieber, and how he will always be by her side.
“DADZ LOVE” is seemingly about his journey in fatherhood, but the most interesting part about this song is the drums, which is sampled from a clip of Bieber himself when he was only two years old and playing drums on a table. “SWEET SPOT” could’ve been a great hit; unfortunately, the Sexyy Red feature for this track just didn’t work. The album also has quite a few conversational segments with Biebs and internet personality Druski, including his recent viral meme sound “STANDING ON BUSINESS” which adds emotional value, if not musical, to the album.
Overall, it’s a 7/10 album, with multiple great tracks. It’s warm, soulful, and passionate. By the sound of SWAG, it’s clear that this album is unconcerned about linearity. However, the lyricism behind some songs can ring quite hollow if you compare them to Bieber’s previous works.
The main draw of the album has to be Bieber’s iconic vocals that have been part of Beliebers’ daily playlists for decades now. SWAG is not a perfect album; some of it is romantic, some of it is about what the singer aspires to be, and some of it still falls short – like normal everyday life.
