Justin Rose has confirmed his partnership with McLaren Golf and will be debuting the British company’s new irons at the PGA Tour’s Cadillac Championship, just 30 minutes away from the Miami Grand Prix.

After enjoying the sweet success of a double world championship-winning campaign in the 2025 F1 season, McLaren have ventured into the world of golf through their new subsidiary, McLaren Golf.

CEO Zak Brown and 2025 F1 world champion Lando Norris are avid enthusiasts of the gentleman’s game, with both figures present at the company’s official launch event in Miami on Wednesday.

So far, Justin Rose and five-time LPGA Tour winner Michelle Wie West are the only two athletes on McLaren’s roster, with LIV Golf’s Ian Poulter being tipped to join the brand.

While McLaren Technology Centre in Woking is largely known for its development of Formula 1 cars, Rose has been working with engineers to fine-tune the new irons ahead of their official competition debut this weekend.

“I’ve had the opportunity to be involved from the outset; working with the team, testing the clubs and helping shape what they’ve become,” Rose told journalists, via The Athletic.

He also shared his high hopes for the new bit of kit, adding, “They’ve given me a fantastic feeling, and it’s outperforming what I have.”

“They want to be the best. They want to operate in the high-end, high-performance category, and the focus is on creating a really great product.”

The South African-born Briton has been using a mixed bag of clubs during the early stages of the 2026 campaign, which actually aided him during his successful attempt to break the 72-hole course record at the Farmers Insurance Open in February.

However, Rose is now understood to be using a combo set of McLaren’s Series 1 irons 5-PW, with a Series 3 4-iron in Miami at Trump National Doral.

How much do McLaren Golf’s irons cost?

According to McLaren Golf’s official website, each club from their Series 1 and Series 3 range costs £360, which puts a full set of seven clubs in the region of £2,520.

The main differences between the two specs of clubs lie in the ease of use. The Series 1 set is advertised as a ‘Tour blade’, which prioritises workability over distance and overall forgiveness.

The Series 3, on the other hand, is more focused on providing distance and forgiveness over workability, without sacrificing the overall feel of the club.
