The government has extended the tenure of Karnal Smart City Limited and Faridabad Smart City Limited till March 31, 2027, to facilitate completion of ongoing projects and ensure smooth handing over of assets to the departments concerned.

The decision was taken during a meeting of the State-Level High-Powered Steering Committee (SLHPSC) chaired by Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi recently to review the progress of projects under the Smart City Mission in Karnal and Faridabad.

Officials said the extension had been granted in line with the directions of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs to enable efficient execution of projects nearing completion and to ensure citizens benefit from modern urban infrastructure.
