PENAMPANG: The Kadazan Dusun Cultural Association (KDCA) has officially launched the Koisaan Museum and Library at Hongkod Koisaan, aimed at preserving and promoting Kadazandusun cultural heritage.
KDCA Huguan Siou Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan said the initiative fulfils a key goal under the Huguan Siou Vision to safeguard traditions threatened by modernisation, describing the museum as a central repository for artefacts, manuscripts and oral history.
He said the facility also embraces digitalisation to ensure cultural knowledge is shared with younger generations and global audiences.
KDCA Deputy President Datuk John Anthony said the museum supports KDCA Vision 2034, which outlines efforts to strengthen cultural preservation, unity and development through 35 action plans.
KDCA leaders said the museum will serve as a research and education hub, featuring rotating exhibitions and community contributions to keep heritage knowledge active and relevant.
The initiative is expected to reinforce cultural identity while bridging generational gaps within the Kadazandusun community.
