
KENINGAU: The Keningau District Police Headquarters has implemented the “QR Code Aduan Masyarakat” system, expanding the digital crime reporting initiative launched in Kota Kinabalu last September by Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Jauteh Dikun.
This system enables residents to report crimes or request police assistance by simply scanning a QR code.
AdvertisementDuring a walkabout on Tuesday, Keningau District Police Chief Supt Yampil Garai said this digital tool would streamline the crime reporting process, making it more efficient for local residents.
The event included officers from both the district headquarters and the Sabah Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department.

During the outreach, Yampil and his team engaged directly with residents, addressing their concerns while distributing safety information and crime prevention materials.

The initiative particularly focused on youth engagement, covering crucial topics such as drug awareness, road safety and the significance of community-police cooperation in addressing social issues.

Additionally, he said they will continue similar programmes to further strengthen the relationship between the police and local community, as well as ensure the safety of all residents in the district.
