JOHOR BAHRU – Amanah Communications Director Khalid Abd Samad has urged Johor voters to send a message to Umno-Barisan Nasional (BN) in the state election, saying the coalition should be reminded to be more humble and appreciative of its political partners.

Speaking at Pakatan Harapan's Ceramah at Cedar Point Food Centre tonight, Khalid criticised Umno for continuing to attack PH and DAP in Johor despite relying on the coalition's support to form governments elsewhere.

He cited Perak and Pahang as examples, saying PH, including DAP elected representatives, had backed Umno leaders to become Menteri Besar of these states.

"In Perak, PH supported Umno to become the Menteri Besar. In Pahang, DAP assemblymen supported Umno to become the Menteri Besar.

"That support was given without issue, but here in Johor they continue attacking DAP and PH. They are arrogant and ungrateful," he said told the crowd.

Khalid said Umno-BN should reflect on the political cooperation it had received at both the federal and state levels and treat its allies with greater respect.

"I call on all of you to teach them a lesson. Bring them back to where they should be - be more humble, more modest and have some shame," he said.

He argued that Umno-BN's continued criticism of its political partners reflected a lack of appreciation for the cooperation that had enabled the coalition to remain in government.

Claiming the party had shown no willingness to change its approach, Khalid said voters should use the state election to deliver that message and show where they truly belong.

"I call on all Johor voters to come out and vote for PH. Teach Umno-BN a lesson," he said.
