Kota Kinabalu: Kinabalu Jaguar Football Club (KJFC) maintained their perfect record at home with a comfortable 3-0 win over Sains FC in the M3 League Group A match at Likas Stadium on Saturday evening.

Veteran striker Leopold Alfonso continued his scoring form with the opener in the 18h minute from a spot kick.

The home side took a 2-0 lead at half time after Zulkifly Harun netted the second in the 24th minute with an assist from Ariusdius Jais.

Zulkifli then put the match beyond the reach of the visitors with his second of the match in the 64th minute.

KJFC team manager Adzhar Mohamad was pleased with the players’ attitude after another big win following their 5-2 away victory against Tun Razak FC two weeks ago.

“I am very satisfied with the result. The players once again displayed their hunger to maintain their winning record at home.

“I am also very happy to see their fighting spirit on the pitch. This is one of the factors for our good run and hopefully they can maintain their momentum against Malaysia University FC in the next match away this weekend in Kuala Lumpur,” he said on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the win and three points has confirmed the team’s place in the quarter-finals with three matches remaining. Only the top four teams in the group stage progress to the quarter-finals and KJFC have accumulated a total of 38 points from 15 matches so far from 12 wins, two draws and one loss.
