THEIR Majesties Sultan Ibrahim and Raja Zarith Sofiah, King and Queen of Malaysia, have extended their Malaysia Day greetings to all Malaysians, while urging the public to take precautions against the haze affecting parts of the country.
Their Majesties prayed that Malaysia would remain under the mercy and blessings of Allah, enjoy lasting peace and be protected from all forms of disaster.
His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim also expressed gratitude for the unity and harmony that have long existed among Malaysians of different races, describing them as an important foundation for the country’s strength and stability.
In their message, their Majesties also advised Malaysians to safeguard their health and practise wearing face masks amid unhealthy air quality.
They said poor air quality could affect health and cause various problems, particularly those involving the respiratory system.
Senior citizens, children, people with respiratory problems and those working outdoors were advised to take preventive measures to protect themselves from the effects of air pollution.
The public was also urged to reduce outdoor activities, particularly when Air Pollutant Index (API) readings reach unhealthy levels.
Malaysians were further advised to drink sufficient water, remain alert to official announcements and monitor daily API readings to safeguard their health and that of their families.
Their Majesties expressed hope that Malaysians would continue to prioritise their health and take appropriate precautions in dealing with the haze. - September 16, 2026
