KUALA LUMPUR: Their Majesties Sultan Ibrahim and Raja Zarith Sofiah, King and Queen of Malaysia, have advised Malaysians to protect their health and wear face masks amid the haze affecting the country.
In a post on the Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar Facebook page, Their Majesties said poor air quality could affect health and lead to various problems, especially respiratory issues.
“Therefore, the people, especially the elderly, children, those with respiratory problems and outdoor workers, are advised to take precautionary measures to protect themselves from the harmful effects of air pollution,” the post said.
The King and Queen also advised the public to limit outdoor activities, especially when the Air Pollutant Index (API) is at an unhealthy level.
