THEIR Majesties Sultan Ibrahim and Raja Zarith Sofiah, King and Queen of Malaysia, have expressed condolences over the death of Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali, who died at the National Heart Institute (IJN) in Kuala Lumpur this morning at the age of 100.
According to a post on Sultan Ibrahim’s official Facebook page, Their Majesties prayed that Siti Hasmah would receive Allah’s mercy and be placed among the righteous and those who performed good deeds.
“Their Majesties also prayed that the entire family of the deceased would be given strength, fortitude and patience in facing the loss of a loved one,” the post said.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, meanwhile, conveyed his condolences while speaking at the International Future Conference 2026 (IFC 2026) in the capital and invited those present to pray for the deceased and recite Surah al-Fatihah.
“Allow me to share the sad news of the passing of Tun Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali. May Allah have mercy on her soul, and let us recite al-Fatihah together,” he said.
Dr Siti Hasmah died at IJN this morning, with her death confirmed by her son, Tan Sri Mokhzani Mahathir. She was 100 and leaves behind seven children. - September 28, 2026
