KKIA eGate system passes user acceptance test

Kota Kinabalu: The user acceptance test (UAT) for the eGate system at Kota Kinabalu International Airport's (KKIA) international departure hall under the National Integrated Immigration System (NIISe) project was completed.

Sabah Immigration Department Director Datuk Sh Sitti Saleha Habib Yussof attended the UAT session, which was conducted to verify that the eGate system met user requirements and integrated effectively with the NIISe platform.

The testing also assessed the accuracy of traveller identity verification using passports and biometric data, as well as the performance of the system's hardware and software under actual operating conditions.

Also present were representatives from the Sabah State Affairs and Research Department, the Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS), KKIA Immigration Office, the NIISe Project Core Team, the Information Technology and Records Division, the Security and Passport Division, Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad and the Sabah Immigration Department's Foreign Workers Division.

Based on the results, the eGate system met the required functional, operational and integration standards, and is recommended to proceed to the implementation phase, subject to the resolution of any issues or improvements identified during the UAT.
