Omega timepiece to headline Palliative Care Association of Kota Kinabalu auction

Kota Kinabalu: The Palliative Care Association of Kota Kinabalu (PCAKK) annual charity dinner & show 2026 will be held on Sept 19 at 6.30pm at Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC).

Organising Chairman Dr Mathan Rao said the annual event is crucial in sustaining the Association’s home-based palliative care programme and supporting patients and families facing life-limiting illnesses.

“PCAKK provides medical aids and equipment for patients to use at home, giving comfort to patients and helping families care for their loved ones in familiar surroundings, completely free of charge,” he said.

Deputy Organising Chairperson Elsie Tan said the event aims to raise RM300,000 to support the continuation and expansion of PCAKK’s service.

There would be a special auction featuring a well-loved Omega timepiece.

“We feel truly privileged that an item cherished by its previous owner is being passed on with love to help support patients with terminal illnesses and their families. We hope the auction will raise significant funds and encourage guests to bid generously in the spirit of compassion and giving,” PCAKK Advisor Datuk Margaret Lim said.

“The opening act will feature local singer, songwriter and vocal educator Rhowell Rolland, founder of Fortissimo Music Studio in Tuaran. Joining him on stage will be Christal Ann Stephen, the 2026 Sugandoi Champion, in a special duet performance,” she said.

Highlight of the evening will be the Australian Bruno Mars Show which pays tribute to the music, style and legacy of Bruno Mars and the artists who inspired him.

PCAKK intends to attract the younger crowd to their annual event. Long-time supporters are urged to bring along their children and grandchildren.  To further support fundraising efforts, paintings by talented local artists will be available for purchase during the event. Several of these artists have established reputations, and their works are highly regarded by collectors.

PCAKK Patron Meng Tan said the organisation relied greatly on the generosity of the public, corporate partners and donors to continue providing essential services free of charge.

“I therefore encourage individuals, organisations and businesses to participate generously. Your support will help ensure that PCAKK can continue its invaluable work and expand its services to meet the growing needs of our community,” she said.

Also present at the press conference were President Datuk Dr Jaswant Singh, Immediate Past President Ivy Stanislaus, members of the organising committee and PCAKK management committee members.

She said tickets are now available at package rates for a table of ten – Pearl Package (RM2,500), Ruby Package (RM5,000), Emerald Package (RM10,000), Sapphire Package (RM15,000) and Diamond Package (RM20,000). Tables in the Diamond, Sapphire and Emerald category will be entitled to a complimentary commercial advertisement.

Furthermore, Diamond and Sapphire tables will also get a display booth in the foyer to promote their products at no extra cost.
