KLIA Ekspres and KLIA Transit fares will rise from Jan 1, with the one-way adult fare between KL Sentral and KLIA increasing from RM55 to RM65.
PETALING JAYA: Express Rail Link Sdn Bhd (ERL) will increase fares for its KLIA Ekspres and KLIA Transit services from January, with the one-way adult fare between KL Sentral and Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) rising by RM10.
The new fare of RM65, up from RM55, will take effect on Jan 1, while fares for other routes will also be revised.
In a statement, ERL said the fare adjustment followed its last revision in 2016 and reflected significant increases in operating and maintenance costs under its concession agreement with the government.
ERL chief executive officer Noormah Noor said the revision would enable the company to maintain its service standards while investing in improvements to enhance passengers’ travel experience.
“This fare adjustment will support our efforts to maintain high service standards and invest in improvements to enhance the passenger experience,” she said.
Noormah said ERL was also working with several partners to offer exclusive ticket discounts of up to 30% from January.
She said details of the discounts would be announced once the arrangements had been finalised.
