KINABATANGAN: Local tourism players must keep up-to-date with relevant knowledge and skills to remain competitive, said Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Christina Liew.

“Programmes like training sessions and workshops would help local operators manage their businesses,” she said when officiating the Lower Kinabatangan Upskill and Sustainable Eco-Tourism Practice Training and Workshop, in Sukau, here, Tuesday.

The Ministry’s Chief Assistant Senior Secretary, Murad Abdul Rasid, delivered her speech.

The Kinabatangan-Corridor of Life Tourism Operators Association (Kita) organised the three-day programme with the cooperation of the Tourism, Culture and Environment Ministry and Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS).
