KUNAK: The Kunak United Traders Association (PPBK) has been appointed as the concessionaire responsible for the management and supervision of the Aidilfitri Bazaar, which began operations here last Saturday (March 15).
Kunak District Council Executive Officer Mohd Nazri Pintal stated that PPBK was appointed to oversee the operation of this year’s Aidilfitri Bazaar.
The decision was made after a thorough review of various proposals submitted by the association, leading to a mutual agreement between the Local Authority (PBT) and PPBK.
“PPBK, as the appointed concessionaire, will take on the role of managing and supervising this year’s Aidilfitri Bazaar,” he told the Daily Express on Monday.
Meanwhile, a PPBK spokesperson said that the two designated locations for the Aidilfitri Bazaar are Kunak Plaza Square and the parking lot behind the Bintang Laut Shop Building.
“One of the improvements we (PPBK) are implementing this year is the standardisation of trading tents. We will set up large, uniform-sized tents at Kunak Plaza to ensure a more organised and tidy marketplace,” he said.
Additionally, trader lots have been arranged based on suitability, demand and required space. He urged all traders and the public to cooperate, particularly regarding the designated parking areas throughout the bazaar’s operation.
“The Aidilfitri Bazaar will run from March 15 until the fifth day of Syawal,” he added.
