
A youth from Ahli Kalan village in Sultanpur Lodhi was found dead under suspicious circumstances after his body was recovered from the Kali Bein, triggering allegations of harassment and assault against his employers by the bereaved family.
The deceased has been identified as Lovepreet Singh, son of Joginder Singh, who worked as a labourer in agricultural fields. According to family members, Lovepreet had allegedly been subjected to repeated physical assault and mental harassment by the field owners. They claimed he had been living under severe pressure and emotional distress for a long period due to the alleged treatment meted out to him.
The family stated that Lovepreet had informed them several times about the abuse and humiliation he was facing while working in the fields. However, due to financial hardship and lack of alternatives, he continued the job. Following the recovery of his body from the Kali Bein, the family demanded a thorough investigation into the matter and strict legal action against those responsible.
On receiving information about the incident, the Sultanpur Lodhi police reached the spot and initiated proceedings. The body was taken into custody and shifted to the mortuary of the Civil Hospital, Sultanpur Lodhi, for post-mortem examination.
Police officials said the case is being investigated from all possible angles and the exact cause of death would be ascertained only after the post-mortem report is received. The incident has sparked concern in the village, with residents demanding a fair and impartial probe to ensure justice for the victim’s family.
