Lady Bulldogs bark to 5th straight Finals appearance, oust Tigresses

MANILA, Philippines — The National University Lady Bulldogs barked to their fifth straight Finals appearance after dispatching the University of Santo Tomas Golden Tigresses, 20-25, 26-24, 26-24, 25-21, in the final phase of the stepladder semifinals at the Araneta Coliseum Saturday.

NU blasted a 10-1 run to flip a 14-18 deficit to a 24-19 advantage in the fourth set, where UST saved two match points.

A block kill then sealed the Finals berth for the Lady Bulldogs, who forged a finals rematch against the undefeated De La Salle Lady Spikers.

Lams Lamina tossed 34 excellent sets enroute to her fifth straight Finals appearance, making the championship round in each of her playing year.

Vange Alinsug fired 18 points, scoring the bulk in NU’s finishing kick.
