Metta World Peace has strongly disagreed with a recent ranking that placed Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant above Michael Jordan as pure scorers.
The former Los Angeles Lakers star reacted after a list sparked debate across the NBA community.
At the center of it was Jordan being pushed down to third place.

Steph Curry and Kevin Durant ranked above Michael Jordan on pure scorers list
Bleacher Report’s list ranked the NBA’s top 15 pure scorers, with Stephen Curry first, Kevin Durant second, and Michael Jordan third.
The top five also included Joel Embiid at fourth and LeBron James at fifth, adding further weight to the discussion.
The ranking immediately drew attention, given Jordan’s long-standing reputation as one of the most dominant scorers in league history.
Placing him behind both Curry and Durant created a clear flashpoint for debate among former players and fans.
Metta World Peace defends Michael Jordan’s scoring legacy
Metta World Peace responded with a strong reaction, rejecting the idea that Michael Jordan could be ranked below any player as a scorer.
“No way. Jordan is the best scorer. Please stop. He averaged 28 points in his rookie year. Rookie year. MJ all day. Y’all need to stop. 6 rings. 6 finals MVPs. 9 scoring titles. 9 scoring titles! 9!. That’s 9. Do you understand? 9 scoring titles,” Artest tweeted.
He added: “This will be the one accolade that will never be reached. It’s the number one accolade outside of MVP. MJ. Please stop mentioning MJ. It’s not even the same conversation.”
The response reflects how strongly former players continue to defend Jordan’s place at the top of scoring discussions.
It also highlights the divide between modern analytical perspectives and traditional views shaped by dominance and accolades.
