The Seberang Perai City Council (MBSP) has announced an upgrading project of a multipurpose court at Lebuh Kampung Benggali in Butterworth.

MBSP mayor Datuk Azhar Arshad said the entire cost of the project, amounting to RM300,000, will be fully funded by the city council.

“The upgrading works will start around September and is expected to be fully completed by December this year.

“Once completed, the 1,465sq m multipurpose court will boast 21 parking lots for cars and some softscape (green) elements such as flowers and plants.

“The multipurpose court also can be used to play basketball and futsal.

“I hope this community project will benefit the residents here,” Azhar said in his speech before the groundbreaking ceremony yesterday.

Also present were state Local Government, Housing, Town and Country Planning Committee chairman Jagdeep Singh Deo and Bagan Dalam assemblyman Satees Muniandy.
