- Linda Noskova beat Marta Kostyuk in straight sets on Thursday to book her place in the women’s singles Wimbledon final.
- The Czech ninth seed held her nerve at the business end of both sets to claim a 6-4, 6-4 victory over her Ukrainian opponent.
- Noskova is still only 21 and this is her deepest run at a grand slam by a distance, with her previous best being a run to the quarter-finals of the Australian Open in 2024.
- Noskova will face her fellow Czech player Karolina Muchova in Saturday’s final after Muchova won a thrilling contest with America’s Coco Gauff earlier on Thursday.
- Muchova saved a match point in the deciding set before securing a hard-earned 6-2, 1-6, 7-6 (12-10) victory.
