Lisandro Martinez has been named Manchester United's Player of the Month for August.
artinez has picked up the award at the first attempt following his standout performances against Liverpool and Southampton in August.
Martinez bounced back after a tough start to his United career to pick up back-to-back Man-of-the-Match awards in the aforementioned games.
He becomes the first defender to win United's monthly award since Luke Shaw received it twice in a row, in February and March 2021.
It is also the first time a new signing has picked up the award in their initial month with the club since former Reds winger Daniel James back in August 2019 - a testament to Lisandro's instant impact following his transfer from Ajax.
