Central defender Ibrahima Konate insists Liverpool are not giving up on the title race or their season.
The Reds are now adrift of the top five teams in the Premier League, after losing 3-2 to Arsenal at the weekend.
They next take on Manchester City in the league, which could either reignite or terminate their domestic league season.
Speaking to the Liverpool website about the Arsenal game, Konate said: “Of course I am very sad for the team because we didn't start very well this game. We tried to come back, 2-2, and after Arsenal scored one penalty.
“It's very sad but we have to keep the head held up and keep going to work every day, every day, every day. Sometimes it's like that, but we don't give up now and we have to work again, again and again.'
Konate added: “Yes, of course it's a lot [frustration]. I think the start of this season, it [has not gone] very well and we did not expect that.
“After I was not really with the team in the last months and I cannot really explain this situation, but now I am back and I will try to do everything to help the team."
