Liverpool are continuing to keep hold of reserve defenders Nat Phillips and Sepp van den Berg.

Goal says Liverpool will wait until late in the transfer window to decide on the futures of Van den Berg and Phillips.

The defensive pair were due to move on this summer - with Van Den Berg's move temporary - but injuries to Ibrahima Konate and Joel Matip have forced manager Jurgen Klopp to reconsider.

Both will now remain at Anfield until the end of the window, with one or both potentially remaining throughout the season to provide cover.

Burnley have been linked with both defenders this month.
