Newcastle United midfield star Sean Longstaff has hailed the signing of Sandro Tonali.
While Longstaff may have to fear for his place with Tonali in the squad, he is only impressed with the Magpies acquiring such a star.
The Italian has joined on a huge money deal from AC Milan, given the Magpies are playing Champions League football this coming season.
Longstaff told BBC Newcastle: "It's going to be amazing. Any time you add an Italian international, a top player who got to the Champions League semi-final last year, it's only going to benefit the team. Really looking forward to meeting him and getting going really.
"There's going to be a lot of high-quality additions, and that's what you want as a player. You want to be playing with the best players possible, that showed when Bruno came in, he gave the squad a massive lift and in particular the midfield.
"Hopefully Sandro can do the same. It's only going to be good for the squad, the competition, as long as we keep pushing each other to be the best we can be as individuals, it will help the team massively."
