SHAH ALAM – Fancy testing your coffee knowledge, identifying aromas blindfolded and solving puzzles, all while competing for cash prizes?
Coffee and chocolate lovers can do just that at the KL Mocha Fest Explorace, an interactive challenge taking place on July 5 as part of the inaugural KL Mocha Fest 2026 at KLGCC Mall.
Designed to be more than just a typical race, the explorace combines fun, teamwork and a love for all things coffee and chocolate, inviting participants to discover the festival in an entirely different way.
Open to teams of two, the challenge will run from 10am to 1pm and feature 10 exciting checkpoints inspired by the world of specialty coffee and artisan chocolate.
Participants will take on aroma identification challenges, coffee and chocolate trivia, QR code treasure hunts, team relays, puzzles and communication-based tasks, with each station testing their creativity and problem-solving skills.
The top three teams will walk away with cash prizes and exclusive hampers, with the champions receiving RM300, followed by RM200 for second place and RM100 for third place. Every participant will also receive a goodie bag.
The explorace forms part of KL Mocha Fest 2026, a three-day lifestyle festival taking place from July 3 to 5 at the Main Atrium of KLGCC Mall.
The inaugural festival aims to bring together coffee roasters, artisan chocolate makers, entrepreneurs and enthusiasts in a celebration of craftsmanship, creativity and community.
Besides the explorace, visitors can look forward to a host of activities including the KL Mocha Competition 2026, where baristas and beverage creators will present original mocha creations, as well as curated tasting sessions featuring specialty coffee and handcrafted chocolates.
The festival will also host latte art workshops led by champion baristas, doodle workshops and competitions and the sustainability-focused Brew Again Workshop, where used coffee grounds are transformed into keepsake objects using 3D-printed moulds.
Adding to the experience are the Saudagar CIMB sessions, which feature conversations with entrepreneurs and industry players on creativity, business growth and the evolving artisanal industry.
Held in conjunction with International Chocolate Day 2026, KL Mocha Fest hopes to deepen appreciation for locally produced coffee and chocolate while creating a platform for makers and consumers to connect.
