What happened this morning (1 April)?

According to one affected user, the train stopped suddenly, causing many commuters to fall. He also mentioned that the train “stopped for a long time” before reversing to the previous station, and everyone on board was told to disembark because the service was suspended.

Another user mentioned she was late to work due to the service delay, and many others were stuck at the Kelana Jaya station following the disruption.

In another post, a user mentioned that the crowds built up quickly at one of the busiest interchange stations, Pasar Seni.

Train service resumed at 9:35 AM. RapidKL explains the delay.

In an official statement, RapidKL said that services on the Kelana Jaya Line resumed normal operations at 9:35 AM, following a delay caused by an incident involving a fallen tree branch entering the track area near Taman Paramount Station.

The incident was detected at 8:28 AM earlier today and disrupted service. Following that, operations personnel immediately carried out track-clearing works and activated alternative train services to ensure passengers could continue their journeys.

During the disruption, congestion occurred at several major stations, especially in the central business district (CBD). Station staff, together with auxiliary police personnel, were deployed to help manage passenger flow and ensure the situation remained under control.

Service operations began to be progressively restored starting at 9:35 AM, but will take some time to fully recover.

The operations team will continue to monitor the situation to ensure smooth service. As a precautionary measure, auxiliary police personnel and station staff remain stationed on platforms and concourse areas to assist in managing passenger movement at affected stations.

In its statement yesterday (31 March), RapidKL cited signal system disruption as the cause behind the major delay yesterday evening.

Passengers are advised to refer to Rapid KL’s social media pages for the latest operational updates and information.
