- Former West Ham United goalkeeper and coach Ludek Miklosko has died at the age of 64 following a battle with cancer, having announced in December 2024 that he was stepping back from further treatment.
- The Czech shot-stopper made nearly 400 appearances for West Ham between 1990 and 1998, helping the club secure promotion to the top flight on two occasions before later returning as a goalkeeping coach.
- Miklosko, who earned international honours representing Czechoslovakia at the 1990 World Cup finals in Italy, concluded his professional playing career at QPR.
- West Ham United paid tribute to the “gentle giant of a man” and will honour the club legend with a period of appreciation during their Carabao Cup third-round tie against Fulham, as well as dedicated tributes at their upcoming home match against QPR.
- In a moving statement, his son Martin expressed deep gratitude to West Ham supporters and former team-mates, stating that the immense love and messages of comfort gave his father strength throughout his illness.
