A young boy tragically lost his life after he plunged from the 10th floor of a People’s Housing Project (PPR) in Tampoi, Johor, last night (Oct 23).
NST reported that the incident took place at 5.30pm when seven-year-old Mohammad Adib Rizqy Mohammad Fauzi was riding his bicycle outside his home.
At the time, his mother was inside the house, while his father, a lorry attendant, was at his workplace.

Mohammad Adib’s mother was later informed of the fall by one of his friends.
Police turned up at the scene to carry out investigations and took the boy’s bicycle for further examination.
The body was sent to Hospital Sultanah Aminah for a post-mortem.

Planned to celebrate victim’s birthday
Speaking to reporters, Mohammad Adib’s mother, Norhidayah Yacob, said the family had plans to celebrate the boy’s birthday on the same day of the incident.
However, it was delayed to the following week as his father had yet to be paid his salary.
“We had planned to celebrate my son’s birthday next Tuesday, as it is also my husband’s birthday. However, we accept what has been decreed by Allah. My son also passed away on this blessed Friday.”
Norhidayah added that when her son’s friend told her that Mohammad Adib had fallen from a height, she initially thought it was a joke.

“At first, I thought my son’s friend was joking. When I went out and looked down from upstairs, I saw my son on the ground floor.
“I rushed downstairs and trembled when I saw that he was no longer moving before calling my husband to tell him what had happened,” she recalled.
Our condolences to the family for their loss.
