Double-parking, if done improperly, can pose much hassle for affected parties as their vehicle is effectively “trapped” until the double-parked car is removed.
A Malaysian recently took to social media to rant over how he had to spend a chunk of money taking e-hailing rides to and from work after his car was blocked by a double-parked vehicle for hours.
‘Trapped’ for 10 hours
In a viral Threads post, the OP posted a photo of a double-parked white Axia which prevented several other cars from getting out, including his.

But aside from the double parking, what frustrated him the most was how long the Axia remained in the same position.
“I want to know…has the car owner passed away? The car remained at the same spot from 12.30pm until 11pm. I was forced to take an e-hailing ride worth RM53 to and from work as you (the Axia owner) didn’t change to ‘Neutral’ gear.
“Even when the handbrake was disengaged, the car still wouldn’t move! Please lah…don’t make it difficult for others like this,” he wrote.

The OP later wrote in the comment section that police were eventually called to move the Axia away.
He added that he had honked for 10 minutes and left a note on the Axia’s windshield before leaving for work and hoped the owner had learned a lesson in posing an inconvenience to others.
Reactions
Netizens were largely as annoyed as the OP himself, with many saying that it was a “missed opportunity” to send a strong message to the Axia owner by “decorating” it with a marker pen or towing it away.

Meanwhile, some were curious what the OP had written in the note, with one netizen jokingly replying that it read: ‘Broken down car for sale? Please call 991.’
