Having a messy housemate is one thing, but one Malaysian man was left disgusted after allegedly discovering something far worse inside his housemate’s room.
Taking to Threads, the man claimed his housemate suddenly disappeared after repeatedly failing to pay his share of the rent, leaving behind an outstanding debt of more than RM2,000.
But when the OP finally decided to check the room, he claimed he was hit by a strong stench of urine and discovered bottles and plastic bags which he alleged had been used to store urine.
Photos shared by the OP showed numerous bottles containing yellowish liquid on the floor, while several plastic bags filled with brownish and yellowish liquid could be seen hanging around the window.

In his post, the OP did not hold back when describing what he allegedly discovered.
“The room was already in such a state, with urine in bottles and plastic bags. It smelled horrible, like urine.”
He also described the room as “disgusting”, despite saying that the rest of the house was properly maintained and had a functioning toilet.
The OP questioned why his former housemate allegedly resorted to urinating into bottles and plastic bags when there was a toilet available in the house.
Aside from the alleged urine containers, photos showed belongings, plastic bags, bottles and clothes left around the room, while parts of the wall appeared stained.
Covered his housemate’s rent for 6 months
What frustrated the OP even further was that he claimed he had been helping the housemate financially for quite some time.
According to him, when his housemate was not working, he helped cover RM350 in monthly rent for around six months.
Even after the housemate started working, the OP alleged that rental payments were frequently late or insufficient.
As he was the person responsible for dealing with the landlord and making the monthly rental payments, the OP said he often had to cover the missing amount himself to avoid getting into trouble with the owner.
He claimed the issue had been happening since 2023.
Repeatedly chased him for rent
The OP also shared several screenshots of their WhatsApp conversations dating back to 2024 and 2025.
In the messages, the OP could be seen repeatedly asking about the rent, while his housemate allegedly explained that he did not have enough money or was waiting for his salary.
In one exchange, the housemate apologised for being late with the rent and promised to pay once he had the money.
The OP said he continued being patient and covering for him despite the repeated delays.
Allegedly disappeared while owing more than RM2K
According to the OP, things eventually reached breaking point when the housemate allegedly left without properly settling what he owed.
The OP claimed his WhatsApp messages and Instagram DMs went unanswered, while his phone calls were also not picked up.
He subsequently posted a QR code online and asked the housemate to transfer RM2,320, saying he was willing to let go of the remaining amount.
The OP added that the money was particularly important to him as he needed it to pay for matters related to his mother’s umrah.
He said he initially had no intention of airing the dispute publicly, but resorted to Threads after allegedly failing to reach his former housemate privately.

At the time of writing, it is unclear whether the outstanding amount has been settled.
