M6 closed after multiple lorries involved in serious crash

  • A stretch of the M6 northbound carriageway in Staffordshire has been closed following a serious collision involving three heavy goods vehicles and a car at around 4.10am on Monday.
  • Emergency services including Staffordshire Police, West Midlands Ambulance Service, Staffordshire Fire & Rescue and National Highways responded to the scene.
  • The northbound closure is expected to remain in place until Monday afternoon to allow for police investigations, scene clearance, and resurfacing work.
  • The southbound carriageway was temporarily closed to allow emergency services access to the crash site but has since reopened.
  • National Highways has implemented diversion routes and advised motorists to allow extra travel time, seek alternative routes, or delay their journeys.
